Ya know, kinda like robben Ford. And what I'm really interested in is more 'licks' and concepts that I can transpose than strict tabs of RF's songs.

Damn, I do go on. I loves me some me, i guess. I'm probably with Teleglide on that. The issue with 'Blues and Beyond' is that Robben is sometimes a bit fast-and-loose with scale terminology. It took some outside education for me to really understand the ideas behind the applications. But, if you're looking to extend basic pentatonic blues vocab into the jazzier areas, 'Blues and Beyond' has a huge amount of info for you. Very good, but if you're already familiar with the basics of blues rhythm and soloing, it may not be as helpful. 'Blues and Beyond' is pretty advanced stuff. It really digs into his approach over blues with complex changes. Covers a couple of classic Robben tunes (Revelation and Ain't Got Nothin But the Blues), along with looks at his diminished scale usage, etc. This is a DVD I keep going back to as my understanding of the concepts improves.

'Back to the Blues' was the third one he did, and is a nice middle ground. Good stuff on soloing over basic and more complex changes, a lot of good stuff on his rhythm approach as well.

Plus some great live footage and comments from Robben. So, I'd suggest either of those latter two if you're ready for more advanced stuff.

Note that there have been VHS, Book+CD, and now DVD versions of some or all of these. There are also new DVDs coming out soon, based on the master classes Robben's been doing (which I would highly recommend--he's got a couple coming up in January). The first one is on rhythm playing, and another one on soloing is coming up.
